How To Start A Business
To start one for life, you must learn how. Begin by first developing an understanding of business:
An understanding of business will help lay a solid foundation for how to start a business for life that will stand the test of time. Let’s begin to build knowledge through metaphors that relate to the flow of business.
Setting up a business is like building a ‘lake house cabin’ to shelter and protect your solution(s), team, and customers. Let’s refer your solutions to having utilities and vehicles such as a boat and car. Your solutions are the momentum that will keep you going.
Building up the inside of the business is like finishing out a boat. Noah built a ship to save from a flood of problem(s) and bring in the right people.
Marketing is how you get people to be aware of your existence (Like throwing a fishing lure with bait in the water); This generates and finds those interested in your help to hook them and reel them in.
Sales are how you can filter whether or not to keep the serious ones in your boat and filter out the non-serious ones. Sales are like the part that comes after you’ve made an excellent first impression. Your marketing has attracted a potential partner to come alongside you and join you for a date. After that, sales are what hooks their interest and reels them in. It works like this for your potential customers.
Another metaphor to understand sales is similar to dating and courting. You first generate awareness and interest through attraction (Marketing) with a potential partner. Then, you hook them by asking them to go with you on an adventure. You then reel them in by leading and caring for them on a date such as dinner reservations for two and dancing.
You’d want the restaurant to know the importance and potential of who you are meeting with and be prepared to assist as you provide a wonderful experience. The food will have to be cooked hot and tested for the right temperature. There must be options, and since the emotions are high, there must be some communication in place to remove and normalize any potential doubts the next day of the entire meeting.
After courting the person, you must engage in making plans together with a proposed period where the end goal is that you will either marry or go your separate ways, but the whole reason you have come this far is that you have the intentions of marriage.
Marriage is a big commitment. It will take all you’ve got to provide a ton of value throughout the relationship nurture.
Marriage is for life. Before your customers marry working with you, the temptation will come to be distracted or unfaithful to your business.
The beginning is always the most difficult. You will need to have some guidelines and guard rails in place for these three things:
- Accountability: Customer Feedback Survey and Testimonial Opportunities, Support, and Service Ticket Requests for project management
- Personal improvement – Focus on this; Don’t focus on the other person being a problem or compare yourself to the outside world.
- Disarm And Resolve The 4 Areas Of Conflict and Drama: Defense, Criticism, Contempt, and Stone Walling
You must know when to assert yourself and follow up. Do not be passive until you make an aggressive decision.
You need a relationship with Jesus combined with discernment to be consistent yet adaptable where you should be.
You must both agree to share any information you or they are withholding, both positive or negative, removing any relationship landmines.
It would help if you relied on your notetaking and the Holy Spirit to give you an unforgettable memory to show that you care and are timely in your nurture of the relationship.
Provide a way for them to tell others about the opportunity to escape their problem and be led to the help they need.
Once you have too many customers to handle yourself, you’ll want to pick some leaders and distribute the customers amongst your team.
The next step in starting a business will be to teach people how to have their problems solved for life.
Now let’s break each part of the business creation down.
First Things First
An essential first step of how to start a business is to put in place the proper foundation. In the first blog post, ‘what is the meaning of life?’, we learned, you must decide where you are going so change can occur. You can only take charge of where you’re going once you take responsibility for yourself and where you are right now.
The strength of a foundation is determined by having the right chief cornerstone.
If you don’t put the right chief cornerstone in place, you should not expect your structure to survive. Build upon a solid rock foundation that is both unique and different.
Here at Streamlined Processes, our unique niche is a creative training platform set up on our chief cornerstone, Jesus. Since He makes everything new, He guides us by flowing creatively. He helps us learn how to serve people in a clear, simple way.
When you make Jesus your chief cornerstone and niche, He’ll help you lay the solid foundation needed to make you different, set you apart in your approach, and help you stand the test of time. That is how to start a business.
So that nothing halts your approach, your priorities must be straight first and in this order:
#1. Spouse (If you have one)
#2. Your Kids (if you have them)
#3. Your work (to serve, build wealth and give)
Keeping priorities in order makes it easier to be guided as you focus on each appropriately.
Confusion, distraction, and even fast-paced busyness are some of the enemies to your growth. We will eliminate them and help you understand so you can focus while slowing down and being productive.
Start by focusing on your current situation and taking care of things now so that later you’ll grow and reach a place of abundance. Not only will you have plenty to take care of for your whole family but enough to leave an inheritance to your children and their children. Then you can give to people generously that need help all over the world.
Your solution will help people, including you, live now and later. Since you do not know the perfect way to build this lake house cabin, you must trust an engineer with guided expertise to help you with the blueprint. Begin by drawing up a business plan for the project’s scope of work and implementation.
